Beautiful Landscape

Tree Face

Crazy Branches

Frozen Marsh
It absolutely dumped snow here yesterday.  Luckily, we made an impromptu trip up Liberty Creek earlier in the week.  It rained all day that day, except for most of the two hours we wandered up and down the creek.  You wouldn't believe all the beaver activity we saw.  It is a beautiful area just 40 minutes or so from home.  The entire hiking trail loop is 7.5 miles and includes a waterfall.  We will definitely be going back when it's a little warmer.  We made it less than 2 miles before we were turned back by the icy trail.  Hope you enjoy the photos.

We thought we would be able to get away during the long weekend but the weather worked against us.  Instead, you get some amazingly colorful close-ups of winter. Enjoy!

Project 48 ~ 2:48

High Tailin' It

Candy Shoppe

Solo Bass

Spirit

Joyful Noise

Great Blue Heron

Moon Song
The plan today was to walk through downtown Coeur d'Alene and take photos of the art in the Art On Loan program.  These are art pieces on-loan from local and national artists and for sale.  And while we stuck to that program for the most part ~ four of the seven photos are of that art work ~ we deviated a little, too.

We went for a side trip into the candy shoppe, which was heaven.  And while I took a ton of photos in that little shop, "Candy Shoppe" was the one I liked the best.  We had a blast looking at the window displays in all the shops ~ "Joyful Noise" is one example.  There is also a lot of art in downtown that is not part of the Art On Loan program.  "Spirit" is one of those.

I don't think it's a coincidence that two of the pieces I liked best had a music theme.

It was cloudy and a little windy, mostly down by the lake.  It actually turned out to be a great day for a walk downtown.

Hope you enjoy the photos.

Beauty Bay, Lake Coeur d'Alene

Mount Spokane from Lake Coeur d'Alene
Old International on the road to Bay Bell Campground
Headlight, Old International
Bird Houses, Harvard, Idaho

Foggy Sunrise

New banner, as promised but I'm still working on the new profile picture, so you're stuck with the old one for a while.

On Saturday, we took a drive around Lake Coeur d'Alene and then continued down the White Pines Loop.  We had an absolutely gorgeous day.  There was fog on the lake at Beauty Bay, which made for some stunning photographs.  A big shout-out to Nancy for telling me about the barns & old International on the road to Bay Bell Campgrounds.  I could have shot that truck all day!  And Scott & I both remembered the bird houses from another trip out of Potlatch, Idaho, although we weren't sure where they were.  I'm glad we found them.

The sunrise was from Friday morning.
