Raccoon Tracks 30:365

Without a doubt, one of the worst photos I've ever posted here, but I was so excited to see the tracks in the snow this morning during my run!

Kiwi & Mandarin 29:365

I am desperate for some winter color.

Snow-covered Trees 28:365

It snowed all day, with even more predicted for tonight.  I can't wait to see what the world looks like tomorrow.

Water Tower Against the Storm 27:365

I just loved the way the water tower looked, standing watch in the fields with the storm brewing behind. Seen from Heutter Road on a Sunday drive.

Hayden Lake in Black & White 26:365

Normally, I don't like converting my pictures to black & white, but it really seemed to work on this one.  I punched up the contrast, too.  It was a dark & stormy day.

Fog & Rain 25:365

It rained all day, then after sunset the fog rolled in.  The picture doesn't do it justice.  It was very gloomy.

Giant Tree 24:365

It was so nice to see the sun and some blue sky today.  The monster tree is from my front yard.

Massage Aftermath 23:365

I treated myself and Scott to a 55 minute massage today for the unbelievable price of $20 each!!!  Thanks, Tawnya, for running such an awesome special!

Yoda in Snow 22:365

Ok, technically, he's not Yoda - he's a gargoyle.  He looks like a cone-head with all that snow on top!

Frozen Lake 21:365

Avondale Lake has frozen over. There were several people ice fishing.  We walked out a ways on the ice, but then I chickened out.

Log Reflections 20:365

I never get tired of this view.  Shot from the Dike Road at Hayden Lake.

Saturday's Sunset 19:365

When the inversion clears, it makes for some pretty spectacular sunsets.  I love the swirls in the clouds right where the sun went down.

Black & White 18:365

This is a color picture, but you'd never know it.  The frost and inversion convert the whole world to black & white.

Iced Berries 17:365

The frost makes everything look magical!

Soft 16:365

I just loved the way the white seed pods looked against the blue (shaded) snow.

Post Office Geometry 15:365

I love the lines & shapes.

Sparkles on Snow 14:365

Beautiful sparkles on the snow this morning.

Bee Happy 13:365

Bee happy.  Enough said.

Clock Tower & Pavilion 12:365

We walked around Spokane during the lunch break from the photo workshop and tried to apply what we'd learned.  I think it helped my exposure.

Snow On Branches 11:365

LM was in town today, so I took her out to Lake Coeur d'Alene to see the eagles.  We saw a couple sitting in the trees.  They weren't very active.  I didn't get any good shots of the birds - it was mid-day and the light was tough, but I liked this shot of the snow on the branches.

The Bee Hive 10:365

One of my favorite local stores.  Extra-credit because it was shot backwards, over my shoulder, while in my car, waiting for the light to change.

Had A Bad Day 9:365

Shot at night, in my car.  It's a horrible picture, but at least I took one.  Would have been tragic to have blown the Project 365 on Day 9.

Into The Past 8:365

This is what my workstation used to look like.  Big changes are coming.

Momentous Day 7:365

It's not every day that your odometer rolls over!  Oh, and Happy Birthday, LM!

Snow-Covered Trees 6:365

From my six-mile run this morning.  It was magical.

Shadow Watcher 5:365

One of the many guardians of my backyard.

Snowman 4:365

My one and only Christmas decoration this year.  Now he's just waiting for me to put him away...

Sideways Sun 3:365

This is from my backyard.  Makes me smile.  :-)

Hayden Lake Boat Launch 2:365

It was really nice to see the sun today.  It's been absent for a while.  We're still in a deep freeze - today made 8 days with the highs below freezing.  Still, seeing the sun makes me believe in the possibility of spring.

Tiny Hands 1:365

I'm going to do it - commit to a photo a day.  I will post at least once a week.  We'll see how this goes.  My focus will be on ordinary things - things I see that interest me.  This was one of my Christmas presents - my granddaughter's hand on a porcelain tile.  I love it.

Project 48 ~ 48:48

Frozen Rocks (White Sand)

Loki (She's not impressed)

Scott (an oldie but goodie from 2011)
The project 48 is ending with a whimper, not a bang.  And I'm ok with that.  This has been a tough year and I'm proud of myself for sticking with this project, even if the effort was half-hearted some of the time.

The first shot is of frozen rocks from my yard.  View it big to see the sparkles.  The second is Loki, Dan's cat, who was less than impressed with Christmas or New Years.  The final shot is recycled from July of 2011 - Happy 4th Anniversary to my husband and best friend!  We had a wonderful "Anniversary Weekend" of movies and dinner and just time spent together.  I can't imagine my life without this man.  :-)  Love you, honey!

As for 2013...  I don't know.  I'm still trying to figure out what kind of photo project to attempt.  My life is guaranteed to be crazy for at least the next few months, so I'm trying to be realistic.  I'll let you know what I decide.  Happy New Year!
