I had a busy day at work yesterday, then a fountain to deliver and set up at my "second" job. The light was fading fast as we pulled back in to the yard and I realized I hadn't taken a single photo all day. Imagine my surprise when I pulled out my Nikon and the battery was dead! So this was taken with the Pentax in less than ideal conditions. Not one of my best.

I took this photo last July.
I'd been thinking a lot about it, the last month or so.
One of the photography forums I follow had a plane photo contest.
It would have been a good entry, but it had to be a current photo.
I looked thru the history on this blog and couldn't find it.
I looked thru my photos on Flickr and couldn't find it.
Then I got to wondering why this wasn't a photo of the day.
It's such a cool photo - the plane flew right overhead.

It was those pesky hummingbirds.
This should have beat the hummingbirds.

Mom's Bible

The one thing I wanted
when they cleaned out my Mom's house was her Bible.
I knew she had one or two -
turned out she had six!
But this was obviously the one she used.
She's underlined passages in red and yellow pencil,
just like my Grandma did.

But the biggest surprise
came when I looked at the front cover.
That's my name, embossed in gold
in the lower right hand corner.
She was using my Bible all this time.
That makes me happy.
