Happy Halloween 2010!
And thanks to Scott for being such a great sport.

Rainbow Trees
The skies may be grey, but nothing else is right now. Have I said lately how much I love this time of year?

Coming Home
Lexi on her blanket on the console between the seats. Happy little traveler, since we discovered Dramamine. [grin]

The Angry Ocean
Monday saw record surf on the Oregon Coast. We spent the day driving up the coast, stopping everywhere we could to look at the ocean. It was unbelievable. Click on the photo to view more shots from the day.

Patterson Bridge
Because of the rain, we decided to start up the coast, arriving in Coos Bay, Oregon at nightfall. This is the bridge over the Rogue River.

Tall Tree
Tall Tree, in Humbolt Redwoods State Park, near the Avenue of the Giants. It has a circumference of 42 feet and a height of 359.3 feet, last measured in February 1957. It's a monster among monsters. The Avenue of the Giants is amazing. Click on the photo for more shots from the park.

The Cat & The Mermaid
Taken on the dock at Crescent City, California.
I got one (one!) decent photo from Jedediah Smith Redwood Forest. It is really hard to take good photos in the (dark) forest with overcast skies... Click on the photo to see more from our day at the forest and in Crescent City.

Sunset, Rice Hill Oregon
Went on a roadtrip to Northern California and the Redwood forests. Will post the pictures over the next day or so as I get them processed. It was absolutely amazing!

Coeur d'Alene River
We went for a drive yesterday, up to the Cataldo Mission. We went past the mission and down to the dock and I got some great shots of the Coeur d'Alene River. Then we went back up to the Mission, where my camera battery died! I can't even believe I went on a photo walk with a dead battery. Luckily I was able to get a few shots with my camera phone. Not great, but better than nothing. And I bet an extra camera battery makes it to the top of my "want" list now!

Lasagna
It's a good thing I took this photo before we baked it. There was no time for a photo afterwards - everyone was TOO hungry!
We had a wonderful dinner with family. Big thanks to everyone who came!

Smudge stalks the Pheasant
This pheasant was in the backyard when I got home from work. He didn't seem too worried about Smudge, even when Smudge started to stalk him.

The Crow
This bird hung out in the Memorial Plaza in front of City Hall all day.
Some folks say crows are a harbinger of bad things or even death. Others say they are the spirits of the departed. A co-worker thought maybe he was just a bird, and thirsty at that - they've turned off the fountains for winter. They're said to be very intelligent birds.
Me? I don't know. I just liked taking his picture.

Lexi and the Fido-Float
I came home from work, and Scott was laughing so hard he could hardly talk. Seems he tried Que's old life jacket on Lexi. Once she had it on, she wouldn't move - not even for the treat we offered. She stood perfectly still and shook.
Isn't rafting with the dogs going to be FUN?!?!

Grocery Shopping
I hate to go to the grocery store after work. I would almost rather have a root canal. But I had no one but myself to blame - I had all weekend to shop and managed to procrastinate until the weekend was over. So I spent 30 agonizing minutes getting what we needed. Then, while trying to get this shot (since I'd also procrastinated my photo-of-the-day) I got yelled at by a man in the parking lot. He was convinced I was taking photos of him. He said this whole photo-a-day idea was the stupidest thing he'd ever heard. Today, I'd have to agree.

Yes!
They're blooming... And I don't think it's a coincidence that the first to flower is the one he's watching each year.
