Nature's Colors
I've been thinking a lot about colors lately. Maybe it's because of the new/old house - I don't know. But I love the colors in this shot. The blue, the green, the brown, the hint of red.
Sometimes it seems like all the colors go away in winter, but they don't. You just have to know where to look.

Auto parts, that is. Three degrees here today, minus fifteen with the wind chill.

Watching it snow
Blizzard conditions here today, with blowing & drifting snow. We've had about a foot fall in the last 24 hours. Today should be interesting.

Through Stained Glass
The photo club had a "macro workshop" at the home of one of the founding members. She had set up spots all over her home with trinkets and treasures for us to photograph. It was a great time, and really interesting to see everyone's equipment.

Heart on it's Side
Scott has been working on the inside of our new/old house for about a year. Now it's time for me to start thinking about the outside - specifically the yard. I walked through it yesterday afternoon, trying to imagine how it will all come together. I know one thing for certain: I've got my work cut out for me. The space is overgrown & neglected. However, there are signs of promise.

Palouse Falls
We spent the day at the Palouse Falls. What a beautiful place! We hiked all around the falls: all along the viewing trail, then up to the bluff overlooking the falls, behind the bluff to the upper falls (small) and out to the edge of the big falls. It was a gorgeous day, and even if the sunset didn't work out planned, I still got some really nice photos.
I have 198 photos to go through, so click on the photo to see more on Flickr. It will be later today before I get everything loaded.

The Prairie
Beautiful skies yesterday as the storm passed thru. This shot is across the prairie at Rathdrum Mountain, using my new polarizing filter and backup battery. Yes, I finally got a backup. It's about time.

Now you see it, now you don't!
The scene when I came home for lunch:
Scott was still working on the leaking pipe.
The scene when I got home from work:
It doesn't even look like anything happened,
and my water is working fine!
Way to go, Scott!!!
Oh, and Happy Birthday, Mom!

Ominous
Looks like rain - not a good sign when there's a huge hole in the backyard... We've got a leak in the water line that Scott is in the process of fixing.

Surrounded by Words
One ring has been on my finger for 6 years, the other for just over 2.
Happy Valentines Day to my beloved, Scott.

Seashell & Shadows
I'm really loving the detail I can get with my 10x closeup filter... Seashell, taken with 18-55mm lens and 10x closeup filter.

Tiny Braids
More arborvitae, encased in ice. Taken with 18-55mm lens and 10x closeup filter, which really makes it look like tiny braids.

Gear Up!
The first time I drove past this sign, I just caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of my eye. I thought it said "Never too late to give up." What?? What it actually says makes so much more sense. :-)

Violet
I'm not sure what Scott spent on these African Violets, but they've been worth every penny. Whenever I need a little bit of color, there they are.
Taken with my 10X closeup filter on my 18-55 lens.

More ghetto macro, this time with my 4x close-up filter on my 18-55mm lens. I like it...

Through A Glass Darkly
This is the view through the condensation on my bedroom window.
I love the colors - the mix of blue & orange.
Lexi gets so much face time, I thought it was Que's turn.
He's getting so old - look at his age spots!
And a photo of Smudge.
His eyes are so blue - this picture doesn't do him justice.

The Glade
This is in front of one of the local subdivisions and we run past it each morning. We especially like the dolphin-sized hummingbird. :-)

Foggy Morning
When we got up this morning, the temperature was 9 degrees and with the wind chill, it was below zero. Brrrrrrrrr.

Encased in Ice
I went outside yesterday at lunch to look for signs of spring.
I may have been a bit premature.
What I found, was this - arborvitea leaves & other stuff
encased in ice in the birdbath.
It's been really cold here - yesterday the high was 22 degrees
and with the wind, it feels much colder
I did spot this - strawberries leaves! They don't look like it's 22 degrees, do they?
