It rained, just in time to water the flowers I planted yesterday.

What in the World??
I have no idea what this guy is, but isn't he cool? Insects remind me of aliens... If anyone knows what this is, please leave a comment. I'd love to know his name.

Windy
I was hoping the wind would die down enough today to get a shot of the lilacs. I was really frustrated at lunch, because it was still blowing hard enough to make getting a sharp photo impossible. Then I decided ~ if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and started experimenting with longer exposure. I thought this one turned out very cool.

Flower Waterfall
We went for our first Photo Walk of the 2011 season, to Manito Park in Spokane. The weather was surprisingly cooperative and I got some great shots. Click on the picture for a link to my Flickr Manito Park set.

Happy Birthday, Neela Joleen!
I have no idea what kind of tree this is, but it doesn't matter because today our second granddaughter was born. What a beautiful day!

White on Blue
Look at that sky! It's pretty much perfect. I think spring is finally here.

Survival
Just a couple of days of warm weather and there can be no doubt: Sideshow Bob survived! He survived being ripped out of his planter. He survived being planted in the ground. And he survived the long, long winter that followed.

Tiny Miracle
When we were in Mesquite almost 2 months ago, the cactus weren't blooming yet. Almost, but not quite. On the day we packed up to head home, Scott's mom broke some pieces off one of her cactus and gave it to us. She told us to take it home & put it somewhere warm & she thought it would bloom for us.
So we came home to 40 degree temps, put the cactus in the shop & pretty much forgot about it. And when it finally started to warm up (just last week...) I figured there was no way the cactus would still bloom. Not after this long.
Today, the sun was out, and look what happened!
I've got them sitting in the sun now - maybe they'll all bloom. It doesn't matter. This one little desert bloom made my day.

Christmas in May
They planted the living Hayden City Christmas Tree over the weekend. Isn't she a beauty?
I had to get the blooming Star Magnolia in the shot as well.
