Peonies

Another shot in evening light. Seems like we never stop working early enough for better light.

I had an x-ray on my foot today, which is still swollen. The tech saw "things in my foot that shouldn't be there." One looked like a bone spur to him. The other were a couple of "spots". I'm hopeful that maybe we finally know what's wrong and there will be a treatment. And scared that treatment will include surgery.

Today is my Mom & Dad's anniversary. If Dad was still alive, this would be 59 years. Amazing.

Hanging Baskets

Because I am too cheap to spend $40, or even $25 on a hanging basket from the store, each year I make my own. I have four hooks hanging from the fence in the backyard and four hanging baskets that have been around forever. This year, I spent $42 on all four. This included potting soil for the baskets. They look a little small now, but by mid-summer they'll be beautiful.

This year I bought four of these gorgeous petunias, one for each basket.

Each basket also got a snapdragon - 2 yellow and 2 this wonderful shade of orange. Aren't they pretty?? Each basket also has pink verbena, but none of that is blooming. Yet.

Mushroom

Not much time with the camera today. It was another busy day in the yard. In fact, if Scott hadn't pointed out this mushroom, there might not have been a photo for my post.

New flower photos tomorrow...

Garden

The petunias look good, especially the blue (purple).

I've had a hard time capturing the red of the red petunias. This shot is pretty close.

The first flower from the new plants in the new garden in back.
My neighbor was cleaning out some of her flower beds and I came home with a bunch of new plants. They are planted, but some of them were more than a little wilted. The weather is supposed to be cool and wet for the next couple of days. I hope they all make it.
