A Tale of Two Rivers

 Sunday was Scott's birthday and he wanted to spend it at the Lochsa River.  They do the annual Lochsa River Madness at Lochsa Falls on Memorial Day weekend.  The river levels were very high this year, which he figured would make for some great action.  He was right.  We watched for almost 2 hours.  We saw kayaks, catarafts, and rafts go over the falls. It was a blast!

Then we took a 19 mile detour on the way home to see Selway Falls. 

It was worth every minute on that dirt road.  Gorgeous!

I have no idea what this guy is, but isn't he cool? Insects remind me of aliens... If anyone knows what this is, please leave a comment. I'd love to know his name.

Windy

I was hoping the wind would die down enough today to get a shot of the lilacs. I was really frustrated at lunch, because it was still blowing hard enough to make getting a sharp photo impossible. Then I decided ~ if you can't beat 'em, join 'em and started experimenting with longer exposure. I thought this one turned out very cool.
