Desert

We went to the desert today. Scott's mom thought the cactus might be blooming.

She was right. The image above is straight out of the camera. The flowers really are that color.

The cactus wasn't the only thing blooming.

Even the bushes had flowers.

And I found this heart-shaped cactus. Everything in the desert is protected, so I just took a picture, as much as I wanted to take it home with me.

Then there was this guy. I didn't have my zoom lens when Scott spotted him or I could have gotten a better photo. He let me get this close, then he bolted. Man, could that jackrabbit run!
