Only Spot of Sunshine 120:365

I swear this was the only place the sun was shining.  What a gorgeous place - and I finally dared to take a photo of it with the Samsung.  Very nice.

Wicked Sky 119:365

Seen while driving back from a delivery in Spokane Valley.  The clouds look like they're curling around Canfield Mountain.

Everything is Blooming 118:365

Everything is blooming - there is color everywhere!  I love spring.

Leopard's Bane 117:365

Always one of the first things to bloom in my garden.  Such a happy little flower.

Beautiful Sky 116:365

Finally, a keeper from the Galaxy!

I got an unexpected afternoon off from work.  No one should be cooped up inside on a day like this.  I came home and worked with Scott at the shop instead - I painted turtles in the sunshine.

Pink Blossoms 115:365

My favorite part of the day is in the evening, walking around my yard to see what has bloomed.

Love/Hate 114:365

I have a love/hate relationship with my latest gadget.

In the Garden 113:365

The colors are beginning to appear.

Bee Bracelet 112:365

Another gift - this one from my friend, Linda.  Did I mention what a completely awesome birthday I had??

Fire Lily 111:365

Another birthday gift, this one from my son.  And another attempt with the 36mm extension tube on the 50mm lens.  My focus still isn't spot on, but I love the color & composition on this.

Wild Horse Stone 110:365

My birthday present from Scott.  (The hands are a present from my mom.)

"Wild Horse is the name given to this stone, whose geological name is magnesite, which is a mixture magnesite/hematite. A fairly new stone that was discovered in the mid-90′s near the Globe copper mine in the Gila wilderness area of southern Arizona. Some have called it Wild Horse Turquoise."

I love it.

Happy Birthday 109:365

Happy Birthday to me!  (Aren't these the cutest confetti you've ever seen?!?  Thanks, Nancy!)

First Photo with Galaxy IIIS 108:365

Epic fail.  I thought it would be easy - like a point & shoot - then realized two days later, when I went to process, that I forgot to set it on macro and tried to take a close-up.  Once again, this calls for practice, practice, practice.

Light & Shadow 107:365

Seems like lots of shadows in Boston.  Sending some light.

Fancy Daffodil B&W 106:365

I nearly always like flower photos better in color, but there is something about this one.

Here's the color version for comparison.  What do you think?

April Magnolias 105:365

It's starting to look a lot like spring around here...  Now if the temperatures will get the hint!

Prairie Sunburst 104:365

I love the green of the fields in spring.  And the clouds have been spectacular this season.

Peach Hyacinth 103:365

Things are finally blooming in the yard.  Makes me happy, happy, happy.

Structure Amid Chaos 102:365

A chaotic night and another late night save with my camera phone.

Crow Skull 101:365

Scott brought this treasure home for me.  He found it under our pine tree in the front yard.  I want to say I'm grossed out by it, but the truth is, it fascinates me.  My brothers would be so proud.

Blooming Heather 100:365

Heather blooming in the flower beds at City Hall.  Just a little spot of color in a sea of rain.

Same but Different 99:365

My favorite lake from a different viewpoint - this was shot from the south end of the dike road.

Looking out over Hayden Lake always makes me happy.

Daffodils in Sun 98:365

I love the color of the daffodils, but this is not my best work.

To those that say white balance doesn't matter, this was shot with WB set to incandescent.  I fixed it in Lightroom, but really believe it would have been better if it had been shot correctly.  I played with the settings for quite a while and still don't love it.

Irish Blessings in April 97:365

I should have used this on St. Patrick's Day.  Better late than never, I guess.

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Lashes 96:365

Oh my.  This with a subject that tried, really tried, to hold still.  This was shot with my 50mm lens and the 36mm extension tubes, f/5 1/20.  The depth of field is so shallow and it's so hard to stay still.  I know I can get some amazing shots with this, if I can just get the hang of it.  Practice, practice, practice.

Tools of the Trade 95:365

In my new job there is a lot of color-coding.  From the outside looking in, it all seemed so unnecessary.  But since I've taken over, I have to admit, I've become a fan.  In fact, I've taken it so far that I want nice writing implements to color code with.  These are my favorites and since they're not available from the supplier we use, I used my own money to buy these beauties.

Once I got them home, it occurred to me they were a good subject for my new extension tubes.  Focus is still tough, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.  They will be very useful for things that don't move.  But I'm wondering how I will ever use them on my real love: bugs.

April Showers 94:365

The April showers have begun.  Good thing, too.  The flowers really need it.

Go Away 93:365

The daffodils are blooming! Doesn't it make my front porch inviting?

Fancy Daffodil 92:365

There is finally something to keep the crocus company.

Moon Through The Trees 91:365

The view out my back door after we ran this morning.  I love the moon.

Houseboat Mansion 90:365

The plan for today was to drive to the Palouse for some photos.  Instead, my yard got some much needed attention and by the time I was done with that, I was done.  We took a short drive out to Bayview and found this fabulous house boat.  It's an architectural wonder.  I wish we could have gone inside.

And March, which came in like a lamb, went out like one, too.

Crocus Close-up 89:365

Just trying to get the hang of my new extension tubes.  Focus is tricky.  I need more practice.  Something else better bloom.

Down That Road 88:365

I just wanted to keep driving down that road into the big sky.
